Bailo Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2018 1.5 l

Grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina.

Background: in the 1940s a small barrel of Recioto della Valpolicella, a sweet wine produced by drying grapes, was forgotten for a long time. This wine thus had time to referment its residual sugars, transforming them into alcohol and becoming dry. When it was tasted, it was felt that it was no longer sweet, but its exact opposite, bitter. And so Amarone was born.

Alcohol: 14.5-16% by vol. (depending on the vintage).

Organoleptic characteristics: intense ruby ​​colour, strong hints of ripe cherries, plums, blackberries; important structure, thick and velvety tannins and ample bouquet.

Gastronomic pairing: tagliatelle with mushrooms, spaghetti with meat sauce, Florentine steak, pork shank, baked lamb, mature cheeses.
